My Trip to Cambodia June/July 2008

Well as many of you may be aware I have just returnes from a long trip to Cambodia. I arrived in PP on the 20th June and just returned on the 31st July..



I spent the first week in Phnom Penh staying at the Walkabout Hotel on 51st Street with my girlfriend Chianti. Spent most of this time just relaxing and recovering from the many long hours worked, over the previous 8 months, to fund the trip. This was great, doing very little after a very busy few months.



The first week is pretty much a blur, lots of alcohol and partying. Some picture taking around Phnom Penh using the Toyota Pick Up Truck I bought, great air con and rain proof. Yes we had a few feet of rain, monsoon season...



Plans were being made at this time to take a trip, by truck, to Siem Reap to go and explore and photgraph Angkor, Chianti decided she wanted to come along as she had never been the Angkor. We were on the road at 5am in a hupe to miss the traffic, it was OK after we got about 40Km from PP and was quite clear right thru to Siem Reap. I a fairly decent road these days just a few rough patches. Not a lot to see along the way, Cambodia is pretty flat around this road and so we had a quick trip thru to Siem Reap.



Oh man ! Angkor, the photgraphers dream.
